Advocates for Immigrants in Detention Northwest is an organization that serves and advocates for immigrants held at the Tacoma Detention Center. They have an ongoing need for donations of items that are helpful and encouraging to those held in detention. Here is their latest message:
Below we have a recently updated Amazon Wish List with new donation requests. We have an immediate need for specific craft items since our supply is currently depleted.
We are again requesting only the specific items of yarn, construction paper, composition books and colored pencils for detainees to enjoy while awaiting release. With limited recreational and educational opportunities, offering “approved” and limited craft items helps with long days inside.
Please only ship via Amazon these requested Wish List items due to COVID regulations.
As noted in our recent newsletter AIDNW has been asked to help those being deported by providing them with a small duffle bag and set of clothing to travel in. We are allowed to deliver these items to the detention center and they have been added to the Wish List.
As always, the Welcome Center and Hospitality House have ongoing donation needs. The Hospitality House’s need for new laptops are also included on the Amazon Wish List below.
As previously requested, please have all donations shipped to the AIDNW Hospitality House.
Due to social isolation guidelines we are only able to receive donations by shipment to:
1915 S. Sheridan Ave.
Tacoma, WA 98405
