We had a great conversation on April 20 with the leaders of Casa Mariposa in Tucson via Zoom. If you were not able to join us, you can get the recording here. The video features the conversation with immigrant and program director Rocío Calderón. Although there were some problems with the audio in the conversation, Rocío has a compelling story.

Casa Mariposa is primarily a program of visitation with detainees at the Eloy Detention Center in Arizona. They also send books, cards, and money for canteen purchases. The cards are simple greetings and words of encouragement. Part of our meeting was spent discussing the procedures and guidelines for making cards and sending them from anywhere. You can find this part of the discussion near the end of the video. If you would like to make some cards, you can download the instructions in this document. Donations are also welcomed to cover the cost of postage and items sent to detainees. If you would like to donate to Casa Mariposa, the best way is online, using this link.
